What We Believe

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie, Indiana, as a liberal religious community, includes members who hold a variety of personal religious beliefs, but who share a common respect for reason, tolerance, and the individual's search for truth. We welcome all people without regard to age, gender, sexual orientation, or race.

Our roots are in Christianity, Judaism, other world religions and the values of the Enlightenment. But the members of our congregation are not bound by any creed or doctrine.  Rather, we all affirm and promote certain Principles and Sources of our faith, as articulated by the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, of which our Muncie congregation is a member. Reprinted below, these are the two most cited documents of Unitarian Universalism.
